Zusammenfassung
Die Untersuchungen Brodies und seiner Mitarbeiter (1, 2) haben es wahrscheinlich gemacht, daß kausale Beziehungen bestehen zwischen den pharmakologischen Wirkungen des Reserpins und dem Aminstoffwechsel. Wenige Stunden nach der Injektion des Alkaloids ist der Gehalt des Gehirns an Serotonin (3), Noradrenalin (4) und Dopamin (5, 6) bis auf wenige Prozent des Normalgehaltes abgesunken und erreicht erst nach mehreren Tagen wieder die normalen Werte. Reserpin hebt offensichtlich die Bindungs- oder Speicherfähigkeit der Gewebe für diese Wirkstoffe auf (7, 8). Auch das Nebennierenmark (4, 9) und die noradrenergischen Neurone der sympathischen Nerven verarmen an Adrenalin und Noradrenalin (10).
