Für die parenterale Oestrogenbehandlung werden zunehmend Depotpräparate bevorzugt. Sie können zur Blutstillung bei funktionellen Genitalblutungen, zur Substitution einer mangelhaften Oestrogensekretion, zur Regulierung zentraler Funktionen und zur Erzielung eines Rebound-Effektes angewendet werden.
