Summary

Sleep deprivation does not lessen pain intensity or depression, or elevate subjective well being of patients with FMS, but it does initiate change in some psychic processes.

Comparing the intercorrelations of a study group with those of a control group, we found that pain ratings become systematically only the day after each night without sleep. There is no long-lasting effect.

Subjective well-being is rated more unsystematically during the period of sleep deprivation.
