Summary
The use of the McGill Pain Questionnaire for differentiation of pain in patients with GTM and rheumatoid arthritis is discussed.
The Hoppe Pain Questionnaire is also described as a further approach to the multi-dimensional assessment of rheumatic pain in double-blind studies (B-vitamins plus diclofenac vs diclofenac in patients with painful vertebral syndromes).
Obviously, the more general use of multi-dimensional methods could simplify assessment of pain in rheumatic conditions, especially concerning progress and efficacy of therapy.
