Funktionelle und Morphologische Organisation der Zelle

Abstract

In this paper an outline is given of the available pathways for the reoxidation by the mitochondria of DPNH formed by glycolysis in various tissues. The following points will be discussed: The DPN content and the DPNH/DPN+ ratio of mitochondria and cell sap; the oxidation of extra-mitochondrial DPNH by the respiratory chain DPNH dehydrogenase, by menadione reductases, by DPNH-cytochrome c reductases, by the glycerolphosphate cycle and other substrate cycles; the oxidation of DPNH in tumours and two aspects of the reoxidation of extra-mitochondrial TPNH.
