Zusammenfassung
Die direkte Kraftsteuerung stellt eine Erweiterung gegenüber den bisherigen Steuerungsmethoden eines Flugzeugs dar, da sie unmittelbar die Kraft erzeugt, die die gewünschte Bahnänderung ermöglicht. Demgegenüber führt bei der konventionellen Flugzeugsteuerung eine Steuerbetätigung zunächst zu einer Lageänderung des Flugzeugs. Als deren Folge tritt dann erst eine Kraftänderung ein, die die gewünschte Bahnänderung bewirkt. Man kann die konventionelle Steuerungstechnik über die Ruder auch als eine Momentensteuerung bezeichnen, die über die Änderung des Momentengleichgewichts indirekt die Kräfte beeinflußt. Die konventionelle Methode zur Steuerung der Flugbahn beruht demnach auf einer Kopplung von Kraft- und Momentenbeeinflussung. Dagegen beeinflußt die direkte Kraftsteuerung unmittelbar nur das Kräftegleichgewicht des Flugzeugs. Sie ermöglicht daher eine Entkopplung von Kraft- und Momentenbeeinflussung und somit auch die entkoppelte Steuerung von Bahn- und Lagebewegung.
