Abstract

Here we survey the computational techniques appropriate to fluid motion, with emphasis on those of greatest utility and already implemented, along with remarks about hardware and utility software requirements. In several cases a technique may have application to physical problems other than those of fluid dynamics. No attempt has been made at completeness. Rather, we mention those techniques which are most widely used, most typical of a class or family, best suited to introduce the reader to a key concept, or most closely related to the new methods we are describing. Likewise, the references are for the most part to well-known papers and monographs, research we consider of particular importance in relation to our own, or simply the relevant publications with which we are most familiar.
