Zusammenfassung

Die Pathologie und Pathophysiologie des Unterhautfettgewebes ist im großen und ganzen bisher wenig studiert worden, und die meisten Ergebnisse dieser Studien sind Nicht-Dermatologen zu verdanken (Blanc, Pfuhl). Baumgartner und Riva weisen in ihrer ausgezeichneten Monographie über die Panniculitis auf die Tatsache hin, daß sich im Fettgewebe unter dem Einfluß der verschiedensten nervösen und hormonalen Faktoren intensivste Stoff Wechselvorgänge abspielten. Trotz des relativ einfach aufgebauten Gewebes, in dem diese vor sich gingen, seien die Funktionen des Fettgewebes aber auffallend wenig bekannt.
