Abnormalities of the bladder neck and urethra in the female

  • Chapter
Endoscopy

Abstract

Careful endoscopic examination of the female bladder neck and urethra is very important when an attempt is being made to find the cause of bladder symptoms in women. This examination is often neglected; when the cystoscopist finds a normal bladder, he may conclude that the patient’s symptoms are due to an extraurinary disorder or are functional. Examination of the bladder neck and urethra may disclose a cause for the symptoms.
