Zusammenfassung
Haarkristalle wurden bereits vor 375 Jahren beobachtet. Sie haben aber erst jetzt an Bedeutung gewonnen und zwar aus zwei Gründen, einem negativen und einem positiven. Man hat oft einen Durchschlag an Kondensatoren beobachtet, der auf die Bildung von Haarkristallen zurückgeführt werden konnte. Das war der eine Grund zur Untersuchung der Haarkristalle. Bei der näheren Untersuchung dieser Kristalle stellte sich dabei heraus, daß ihre Zerreißfestigkeit wesentlich größer ist als die der besten Einkristalle. Das Problem der Festigkeit war der zweite Grund. Seit etwa zehn Jahren ist das Interesse an Haarkristallen rapide gewachsen. Es liegen bereits über dieses Gebiet mehrere hundert Arbeiten und mehrere Zusammenfassungen vor. Da bereits auch einige neuere zusammenfassende Berichte1–4 über Haarkristalle vorliegen, brauchen wir hier nur kurz darauf einzugehen.
