Medical Therapy of Reflux Esophagitis

Elevation of the head of the bed is objectively proved to be an effective therapeutic measure to decrease nocturnal reflux, superior to propping the patient’s head and shoulders on extra pillows. Avoidance of recumbency after meals, of straining to lift heavy objects, of tight garments, etc. is also advisable.
