Zusammenfassung

Seit den Untersuchungen von Adams und Purves 1956 (1) ist bekannt, daß im Serum von Patienten mit einer bestehenden oder behandelten Hyperthyreose und endokrinen Ophthalmopathie eine dem Thyreotropin nicht identische Substanz (2, 4, 10) gefunden wird, die Schilddrüsen von Versuchstieren stimuliert und sich — im Vergleich zum TSH — durch eine verspätet einsetzende und gelegentlich besonders hohe Aktivität unterscheidet.
