Zusammenfassung

Klinische Beobachtungen über Störungen der Blutbildung bei Erkrankungen der Hypophyse1 und das Wissen um die Vielfalt der regulatorischen Funktionen, die der Hypophyse zukommen, gaben schon frühzeitig den Anstoß zu Untersuchungen über die Beziehungen zwischen Hypophyse und Blutbildung. Flaks, Himmel u. Zlotnik2 stellten als erste die Behauptung auf, daß die Hypophyse ein erythropoietisch wirkendes Hormon produziere. Sie gelangten zu diesem Schluß auf Grund von Rattenversuchen, in deren Verlauf den Tieren Hypophysenpräparate peroral bzw. parenteral verabfolgt wurden.
