Abstract
An optical phonon structure is proposed for cyclotron absorption in polar crystals at high magnetic fields. This is due to an induced modulation of the optical dipole by the electron phonon interaction. The theory is based on a model which treats the field-transverse lattice motion as adiabatic, resulting in a screened one-dimensional polaron interaction.
