Computing Methods in Optimization Problems

Abstract

This paper describes a numerical iterative method for computing the optimal control actions in linear or nonlinear control systems with control appearing linearly (1),(2),(3). The method we propose belongs to the class of direct methods but also makes use of the knowledge of the general form of the optimal control derived by the maximum principle (2).
