Abstract
Experience gained from computerised command and control technology and demand responsive transportation systems led to the development of the Flexible Operation Command & Control System (FOCCS). FOCCS provides a set of EDP modules for vehicle location, nominal-actual timetable comparison, transfer synchronisation, traffic light priority, passenger information and demand responsive services (operating flexibly by area and time according to actual trip requests). The main objective is to integrate railway, line-haul bus, school charter services and demand actuated means of transport into one uniform public transport network.
