Abstract
The symptoms of early pregnancy are: (a) amenorrhoea (but some irregular bleeding may occur from the decidua parietalis); (b) nausea and vomiting; (c) breast enlargement, with tingling and tenderness (from 6 weeks); (d) darkening of the areola (from 8 weeks), which persists after pregnancy; (e) frequency of micturition; and (f) other symptoms, including tiredness (the most common), excess salivation, pica and mild irritability or euphoria.
