Wie schon eingangs festgestellt, verstellt man heute unter „Lederleim“ nur ein aus gegerbten Lederabfällen gewonnenes Erzeugnis. Diese Abfälle sind ein Rohstoff, welchem die Leimindustrie heute mehr und mehr Beachtung zuwendet.
