ATP Influences on Cerebral Hemodynamics and Metabolism in Patients with Ischaemic Cerebral Disturbances

Abstract

There is experimental evidence that, in situations of cerebral ischaemia and anoxia, the synthesis of ATP is disturbed and its concentration in the brain tissues decreases rapidly and significantly. At the 15th min. of incubation of ischaemic slices of brain tissue the concentration of ATP within grey matter decreases 28 times and that within white matter about 12 times [2, 5].
