Abstract
The term right bundle branch block (RBBB) was originally anatomically and functionally strictly defined. The term is based on the experiments of Eppingek and Rothberger with animals (1909), in which the right branch of the atrioventricular bundle was cut. The functional consequences produced a typical change of the ECG which corresponds to a delayed activation of the right ventricle.
