Zusammenfassung

Es ist die Aufgabe der enzymatischen Histochemie, die enzymatischen Funktionen in den morphologischen Einheiten des lebenden Körpers zu lokalisieren. Das Ziel solcher Untersuchungen ist in letzter Linie die Aufklärung der Rolle, die den morphologischen Elementen, wie z. B. bestimmten Geweben oder Zellen, darüber hinaus aber auch den Struktursystemen der Zelle, wie Kernen, Mitochondrien und Chromidien, im Stoffwechselgeschehen der Organismen zufällt. Je nachdem, ob Gruppen funktionell gleichgearteter Zellen oder Partialsysteme von Zellen als morphologische Einheiten aufgefaßt werden, wird Histochemie im engeren Sinne, im anderen Falle aber Cytochemie betrieben.
