Abstract
The term “blitz play” in chess is used to describe a game played at high speed. Instead of moving at an average of from 2 to 3¾ minutes per move, the players must make all of their moves within a short period of time — usually five minutes. Alternatively, the players are required to move every five or ten seconds.
