Zusammenfassung
Chirurgische Maßnahmen am Glaskörper galten noch vor wenigen Jahren als risikoreich und obsolet; sie werden heute mehr und mehr durchgeführt. Diese Entwicklung wurde eingeleitet durch die 1968 publizierte Mitteilung Kasner’s, daß man Teile des bei der Staroperation vorgefallenen Glaskörpers ausschneiden könne, ohne damit wesentliche Komplikationen zu provozieren. Die Erfahrungen gingen vielmehr dahin, daß die Glaskörper-ausschneidung geeignet ist, Komplikationen nach Glaskörperverlust (chronische Uveitis, Sekundärglaukom und Netzhautablösung) weitgehend zu vermeiden. Die Indikationen wurden erweitert (Kasner u. Mitarb., 1968; Sanders, 1968); das in der Folgezeit als Vitrektomie bezeichnete Verfahren wurde 1969 anläßlich des 5. Internationalen Kursus der Ophthalmologie in Barcelona von Barraquer, Girard und Strampelli empfohlen. Weitere Arbeiten wurden von Faulborn (1970), Michels u. Paton (1970), Troutman (1970), Cerasoli und Kasner (1971), Böke und Hübner (1972), Böke und Wätzig (1972), Coles und Haik (1972), Gombos (1972), Van Heuven (1972), Scott (1972), Shafer (1972) sowie Trutz (1972) publiziert.
