Der Nachweis von Campylobacter pylori in Biopsiematerial wird mit direkten Verfahren (Identifizieren in vitro vermehrter Erreger nach bekannten Merkmalen bzw. von Bakterien, deren mikroskopische Morphologie im histologischen Präparat dem von C. pylori entspricht) oder indirekten Methoden (Ureaseaktivität) geführt.
