Zusammenfassung

Neben charakteristischen ultrastrukturellen Veränderungen der Schleimhaut des Magens im Zusammenhang mit einer Besiedlung durch Campylobacter pylori (C. pylori) wird die lokale und systemische Immunantwort bei einer Infektion mit C. pylori als Hinweis für die Pathogenität dieses Keimes gedeutet. Eine derartige Immunantwort ist Ausdruck einer Reaktion des komplex strukturierten darmassoziierten Immunsystems auf die Exposition des Wirtes mit einer Vielzahl keimspezifischer Antigene.
