Zusammenfassung

In der Frühesterkennung gastrointestinaler Tumoren hat die Zytodiagnostik einen Platz in zweifacher Hinsicht: Erstens kann die Zytodiagnostik zu der Entdeckung maligner Tumoren verhelfen, wenn andere Methoden nicht anwendbar oder diagnostisch weniger empfindlich sind, und zweitens kann die Zytodiagnostik zur Beschreibung präcanceröser Veränderungen und der Abgrenzung gegenüber Tumoren beitragen.
