Zusammenfassung
Zu Beginn jeder Hypertonieabklärung steht die Blutdruckmessung. Die Erhebung sowie die Interpretation einzelner Messungen, wie sie der Arzt durchführt, ist sowohl bei eindeutig normalen als auch bei stark pathologischen Werten relativ einfach. Bei geringgradig erhöhten Werten hingegen ist die Diagnose einer Hypertonie oft erschwert. Es ist deshalb verständlich, daß durch Registrierung vieler Werte, wie sie die 24-Stunden-Blutdruckmessung erlaubt, eine bessere Aussage über das tatsächliche Blutdruckverhalten möglich ist.
