Ergebnisse der Psychotherapieforschung bei psychosomatischen Erkrankungen

Zusammenfassung

Das Thema des Symposions schließt an meine Eröffnungsrede beim Wiesbadener Internistenkongreß 1980 an. Damals habe ich unter der Überschrift „Die Medizin und die Wissenschaften vom Menschen“ darzulegen versucht, daß sich die Naturwissenschaften, Verhaltens- und Sozialwissenschaften in der Beschreibung, pathogenetischen Aufklärung und Behandlung innerer Erkrankungen komplementär zueinander verhalten, d. h. sie ergänzen sich gegenseitig, ohne deckungsgleiche Resultate zu erzielen. Nur durch die Anerkennung ihrer prinzipiellen Gleichwertigkeit trotz unterschiedlicher Methoden, Forschungsstrategien, Begriffsbildungen und Erfolgskriterien und damit auch unterschiedlicher Indikationsbereiche können wir jenes mehrdimensionale Krankheitsverständnis auch wissenschaftlich fundieren, das wir als Internisten für unsere ärztliche Praxis in Anspruch nehmen. Für mich persönlich ist es jedenfalls keine Frage, daß die moderne Medizin der Ergänzung durch die psychosomatische Betrachtungsweise bedarf. Deshalb ist es wohl auch kein Zufall, daß diese mehrdimensionale Betrachtungsweise aus der inneren Medizin hervorgegangen ist. Es ist meine Überzeugung, daß sie als integrales, aber selbständiges Teilgebiet auch der inneren Medizin verbunden bleiben sollte, anstatt z. B. in die Psychiatrie abzuwandern, die sie lange skeptisch betrachtet hat, sie aber heute gern inkorporieren würde.
