Zusammenfassung
Seit Einführung der immunoradiometrischen Ferritinbestimmung im Serum haben zahlreiche Untersucher [4, 7] eine enge Korrelation zwischen dem Serumferritinspiegel und dem Speichereisen gefunden. Die Serumferritinbestimmung gewinnt deswegen zunehmend an Bedeutung als ein zusätzliches diagnostisches Kriterium des Eisenstoffwechsels. Nach Jacobs [7] entspricht 1 μg Serumferritin 8 mg Speichereisen. Wieweit diese Relation auch über einen größeren Krankheitsbereich mit anderen Kriterien des Eisenstatus — insbesondere dem cytochemischen Nicht-Hämoglobineisen des Knochenmarks und den histochemischen Befunden von Leber und Milz — vergleichbar ist, erscheint bisher nicht eindeutig geklärt.
