Zusammenfassung

Die elektrische Doppelstimulation ist eine der Maßnahmen zur Frequenz reduktion tachykarder Rhythmusstörungen [11, 2, 5, 6]; sie kann auch zur Stei gerung der Inotropie führen [3, 9, 10, 13]. Durch Stimulation zum frühestmöglichen Zeitpunkt der Wiedererregbarkeit in der relativen Refraktärperiode — der sog. funktionellen Refraktärzeit (FRP) — wird ein erneuter Erregungsablauf induziert, der keine neue, nennenswerte Kontraktion zur Folge haben soll [11, 6]. Auf diese Weise wird die Herzschlagfrequenz vermindert.
