Zusammenfassung
Die Catecholamine Adrenalin und Noradrenalin wurden von ihren Entdeckern zunächst als Ursache der essentiellen Hypertonie angesehen, und es bedurfte zahlreicher klinischer Untersuchungen, bis dieses Konzept wieder allgemein verlassen wurde. Erst seitdem heute subtilere Untersuchungstechniken einen Einblick in den Noradrenalinstoffwechsel ermöglichen, gewinnen die Catecholamine in der Hochdruckpathogenese wieder an Interesse.
