Obwohl der Hochdruck zuerst im Zusammenhang mit chronischen Nierenerkrankungen erkannt wurde, wurde der Erforschung seiner haemodynamischen Basis und seiner Pathogenese im Vergleich mit essentiellem Hochdruck in den letzten 25 Jahren nur wenig Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet.
