Zusammenfassung

Ein für die Vorbereitung dieses Referates notwendiger Überblick über das Größenausmaß des Problems der cerebrovasculären Erkrankungen in der Bundesrepublik erbrachte ein unerwartetes Resultat: Unter allen europäischen Ländern liegt die BRD in der standardisierten Mortalitätsrate an Gehirnblutung und Cerebralinfarkt pro 100 000 pro Jahr mit an der Spitze. Wir kommen zu dieser Feststellung bei Berücksichtigung zweier voneinander unabhängiger Publikationen, dem Gesundheitswesen der BRD 1970 und dem Statistical Bulletin der Metropolitan Life Insurance Company vom August 1971.
