Zusammenfassung

Theophyllin gehört wie Coffein und Theobromin zu den Methylxanthinen. In der folgenden kurzen Übersicht werden zunächst die pharmakologischen Wirkungen von Theophyllin zusammengefaßt. Anschließend werde ich mögliche Mechanismen der Wirkung von Theophyllin auf zellulärer Ebene besprechen. Schließlich werde ich kurz auf erste orientierende Versuche eingehen, in denen die Wirkung von Teopranitol (KC 046) auf die Kontraktionskraft des Herzens mit derjenigen von Theophyllin verglichen wurde.
