Zusammenfassung
Das Gebiet der Hirnforschung erlebte in den 70er Jahren eine schnelle Entwicklung, die ohne Beispiel in der medizinischen Forschung ist. Eine überwältigende Menge an wissenschaftlichen Fakten ergab sich auf Gebieten wie Ultrastruktur des zentralen Nervensystems, dem zellulären Energiestoffwechsel, Biomembranen und Rezeptoren, neuronaler Kodierung, Kybernetik, Neurotransmission und neurohormonaler Regulierung.
