Zusammenfassung

Mit Sicherheit wird der Begriff „autoimmun“ im Zusammenhang mit den hier abzuhandelnden Muskelerkrankungen auf Widerspruch stoßen, denn ob diese Syndrome die wohl auch heute noch gültigen Forderungen McBurnett’s für das Vorliegen einer Autoimmun-Erkrankung erfüllen, ist mehr als fraglich. Betrachten wir den Begriff „autoimmun“ in diesem Zusammenhang daher lediglich als eine Arbeitshypothese, wobei, wie so oft in der Medizin, mit einem Namen Unwissenheit verborgen wird.
