Abstract
Patenting of biotechnological inventions is no longer an exotic affair but everyday-routine in the patent offices around the world. The market for the respective products is already now at an estimated volume of about 10 billion Dollars per year with high growth potential. One of the prospective main areas of exploitation — medical use — is still in its initial phase.
