Abstract
Rib reinforcement of plates and shells is commonly used in machinery, in building structures and in other branches of technology. A problem of an optimal arrangement of ribs in thin rigid-plastic plates with hinged edges was studied in the paper1 in such a formulation: a volume V of material in an initially non-reinforced structure of constant thickness is presented, it is necessary so to distribute an added volume αV as to obtain the construction of greatest load carrying capacity.
