Abstract

Electrical resistance of the skin and subcutaneous tissue is one of the major problems of neurophysiological facial nerve testing. The tests are sometimes abandoned due to the pain and stimulating initial artifacts. To overcome this disadvantage, the authors have found that the facial nerve can be stimulated with far less current through Stensen’s duct.
