Zunächst sollte man darauf achten, daß der Patient bequem gelagert ist. Der Kopf wird leicht überstreckt und bei entspanntem M. sternocleidomastoideus zur Gegenseite gedreht. Auch der Untersucher sollte eine ergonomische Haltung einnehmen und die Sonde mit aufliegendem Unterarm führen (Abb. 4.1).
