Part of the book series: Recent Results in Cancer Research ((RECENTCANCER,volume 135))

Abstract

Stereotactic external beam radiotherapy (SRT), often described as radiosurgery, is a method of delivering highly localized irradiation using either dedicated or conventional radiotherapy equipment. As a high-precision technique it requires accurate localization of tumour, improved patient immobilization and means of delivering focused radiation.
