Zusammenfassung

Kranio-maxillo-faziale Anomalien und Spaltbildungen des Gesichtes betreffen die kraniale Region oberhalb der Interorbitalebene ebenso, wie die faziale Region unterhalb dieser Ebene. Die Spaltbildungen des Gesichtes treten regelmäßig entlang festliegender Achsen auf. Das Ausmaß der Spaltbildung in den Gesichtsweichteilen korrespondiert meistens nicht mit den Spaltbildungen am Skelett. Zusätzlich wird die Morphologie einer komplexen Gesichtsspalte durch das oft gleichzeitige Auftreten unterschiedlicher Spaltformen verkompliziert.
