Zusammenfassung
Die basiläre Impression ist eine häufige und wichtige Formveränderung des kraniozervikalen Überganges. Sie gehört zu den okzipitalen Dysplasien und weist eine Häufigkeit von ca. 1% in der Gesamtbevölkerung auf [33]. Viele Fälle bleiben klinisch stumm oder werden autoptisch gefunden. Diejenigen Fälle, die zu Lebzeiten auffällig werden, beanspruchen ein erhebliches, differentialdiagnostisches Interesse, da einige neurologische Krankheitsbilder, z.B. die amyotrophe Lateralsklerose, imitiert werden können. 60% der Patienten mit klinischer Manifestation der basilären Impression zeigen cochleärvestibuläre Symptome und werden beim HNO-Arzt vorstellig, der somit in die Diagnostik und Therapie einbezogen wird [9].
