Abstract
Hodgkin’s disease can be effectively treated with irradiation, and the role of radiation therapy is well established in the management of early-stage Hodgkin’s disease. About 80% of patients with stage I or II Hodgkin’s disease who are free from constitutional symptoms will live free from relapse for 10 years from the diagnosis if treated with irradiation alone (Hoppe et al. 1982; Mauch et al. 1988). As the cure rate has increased, late complications of irradiation have become increasingly important.
