Abstract

Point-contact (PC) spectroscopy is a very useful experimental method for the direct study of the energy dependence of the interaction between conduction electrons and quasiparticle excitations in metals [1]. For small metallic contacts where both the inelastic le and elastic li mean free paths of the electrons are larger than the contact diameter d, the second derivative d2I/dV2(eV) of the I–V characteristic is direct proportional to the electron-quasiparticle interaction function (EQI).
