Multiple Cerebral Metastasis from Cancer of the Lung
A 54-year-old white man presented with slurred speech and weakness of his right hand. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) showed multiple enhancing lesions in the cerebellum and in the left occipital and left parietal regions. A computerized axial tomography (CAT) scan of the chest showed two nodular lesions in the right lower lobe with a 3 cm ipsilateral mediastinal lymph node. A right transbronchial biopsy revealed poorly differentiated carcinoma. His neurologic symptoms improved on dexamethasone (Decadron).
