Abstract
With the coming economic unification of Europe, it may be useful for the European community to consider creating an organization like EDUCOM which represents the interests of the computing and communications community in Higher Education in a wide range of forums. In general EDUCOM provides an organizational framework that facilitates cooperative projects that are beyond the scope of individual institutions and provides a mechanism by which computing and communications professionals can speak with one voice to vendors, government at all levels, and other organizations on issues affecting them.
