Abstract
We discuss the electronic properties of quantum dots and quantum rings in magnetic fields. The results for the magnetization in these two systems show very different behavior reflecting the different energy level spectra in these systems. Information about the singleand many-electron energy levels are essential in understanding the recent magneto-optical and magneto-transport measurements on quantum dots.
