Micelles and Vesicles of Gangliosides

Abstract

Aggregation properties of various gangliosides into micelles and vesicles are described. Vesicles form spontaneously in solution and are in thermodynamic equilibrium with a small concentration of a lamellar phase. Vesicles seem to have small bending elasticity, of the order of kT.
