Abstract
Holographic interferometry was invented about 25 years ago [1]. Many papers and books with this subject have appeared ever since [2]. First, the method was believed to solve most of the problems in non-destructive testing and experimental mechanics but the real break through in manufacturing industry is mainly still missing. It took more than 20 years to develop the optics, the lasers, the electronics, the computers and the recording media etc. that are a prerequisite to make the method more feasible for industrial use.
